This title provides first responders and safety personnel with the essential skills to manage the initial phase of a hazardous materials incident through effective control and strategic defensive action. Participants will learn how to establish and enforce scene control procedures. Also presented are risk assessment techniques and the selection of an appropriate defensive strategy based on material properties and environmental conditions. Implementing defensive control techniques such as containment and isolation will help to protect the public and minimize further harm.
